Brand Alignment, Apparel Design, Sustainable Materials, and Production Direction
Zhejiang University is one of China’s most prestigious universities, with a strong academic reputation and a highly recognisable institutional identity. This project focused on extending that identity into a graduate apparel range that could feel both contemporary and appropriate to the wider university brand.
The broader challenge was not simply to design university merchandise, but to ensure that the apparel line felt aligned with the character, values, and visual language of the institution itself. At the same time, sustainability had to be part of the solution, both in the choice of materials and in the approach to production.
This direction was carried into the redesign of a full graduate casualwear range, including jackets, caps, scarves, and sports bags. The collection was developed to feel more coherent, more wearable, and more closely connected to the overall brand of Zhejiang University, while also supporting a more responsible design and production approach.
The project gave the university a more considered and brand-aligned apparel system, one that combined identity, function, and sustainability in a way that could strengthen both campus pride and the quality of the overall brand experience.
